Sherman, TX — On June 17, 2025, Texas Instruments (TI) announced a $60 billion investment to expand its semiconductor manufacturing facilities in Sherman, Texas, aiming to boost domestic production.
The Details:
The investment will fund the construction of up to four additional 300mm wafer fabrication plants, building on two fabs already under development.
TI plans to start production at the first new fab by late 2027, with the project creating approximately 3,000 direct jobs.
The expansion aligns with TI’s goal to increase internal manufacturing to over 95% by 2030, supported by a $1.6 billion federal CHIPS Act grant.
CEO Haviv Ilan stated, “This investment strengthens our ability to meet growing global demand for analog and embedded processing chips.”
